Prodotto essenzialmente dal vitigno nebbiolo, il Barolo può essere considerato uno dei più grandi vini italiani. Situati in altura, i vigneti sorgono su un terreno costituito da marne calcaree, magnesio e manganese a nord-ovest e da ferro a sud-est. Sullo stesso territorio ritroviamo due stili di Barolo. Da un lato i Barolo moderni, fruttati, morbidi e con tannini resi maturi dall’invecchiamento in botti nuove; dall’altro i Barolo classici, densi e tannici e spesso essiccati con imbottigliamento ritardato.  Generalmente i Barolo si distinguono per il colore molto scuro e la notevole complessità aromatica. Questi vini, sofisticati ed eleganti, sono caratterizzati da note affumicate di vaniglia cremosa e di tabacco.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
