Il Barolo Riserva DOCG "Ghé" proviene dalla zona di Cerretta, nel comune di Serralunga d'Alba, un'area particolarmente vocata per la produzione di grandi Baroli. Le viti sono coltivate su uno sperone di terreno di 3.500 m² completamente esposto a sud, dove è stato piantato un clone di Nebbiolo, il michet, noto per la sua bassa resa ma per la capacità di donare vini di straordinaria complessità e struttura. Dopo la fermentazione malolattica, il vino affina per circa 30 mesi in botti di rovere francese da 400 litri, per poi riposare in bottiglia per almeno 30 mesi prima di essere immesso sul mercato come Riserva. Questo Barolo è un vino aristocratico, complesso e di grande struttura, caratterizzato da un bouquet aromatico ricco di spezie, cuoio, tabacco, con delicate note di rose e viole. Al palato, si presenta vellutato, asciutto, potente e persistente. La produzione è limitatissima, con sole 800-1.000 bottiglie, confezionate in cassette di legno, rendendo questo Barolo una vera gemma da collezionare.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
