L'azienda agricola Schiavenza, attiva dal 1956 a Serralunga d'Alba, fu fondata dai fratelli Vittorio e Ugo Alessandria. Oggi è gestita dal genero Luciano Pira, agronomo e cantiniere, con il supporto della moglie Maura Alessandria e del cognato Walter Anselma. La cascina, un tempo proprietà dell'Opera Pia Barolo, deve il suo nome ai mezzadri "schiavenza". L'azienda si estende su circa dieci ettari di vigneti a Serralunga d'Alba e quattro giornate piemontesi a Monforte d'Alba. Produce vini rossi di qualità, in particolare Barolo, da uve 100% Nebbiolo, con note speziate e un sapore secco e pieno.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
