Nel XVI secolo il Cavaliere di Essenault, consigliere al Parlamento di Bordeaux, fece radere al suolo l’antico edificio per far costruire la struttura attuale, al quale diede il suo nome contratto: Issan. Due secoli dopo, la tenuta venne classificata Troisième Grand Cru di Margaux nel 1855. Nel 1945 la famiglia Cruse ne diventa proprietaria. Dal 1998, la proprietà è gestita da Emmanuel Cruse, co-proprietario insieme a Jacky Lorenzetti. Nel 2008 Cruse è stato insignito del titolo di Grand Maître de la Commanderie du Bontemps del Médoc, delle Graves, di Sauternes e di Barsac. Lo Château d’Issan possiede un vigneto su una superficie unica sulle rive della Gironda, il cui suolo è costituito da splendide graves ricche di ciottoli. L’assortimento varietale, come nel resto della denominazione, è costituito per il 65% da cabernet-sauvignon e per il 35% da merlot. Le viti sono trattate con le tecniche della viticoltura sostenibile: trattamenti effettuati in base alla gravità della malattia e molta profilassi (generalmente tra 7 e 9 trattamenti all’anno).

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
