l Château Pont Cloquet Pomerol 1996 è un rosso della denominazione Pomerol, nella regione di Bordeaux, che esprime lo stile elegante e maturo tipico dei vini della riva destra a base Merlot; l’annata 1996, molto favorevole, ha dato vini equilibrati e longevi e oggi questa bottiglia si presenta con un colore granato evoluto dai riflessi aranciati, mentre al naso offre un profilo complesso con note di frutta rossa matura come ciliegia e prugna intrecciate a sentori terziari di sottobosco, tartufo, cuoio e tabacco, arricchiti da sfumature speziate e leggermente balsamiche; al palato è morbido e armonico, con tannini setosi ormai perfettamente integrati, una struttura ancora presente ma levigata dal tempo e una freschezza che accompagna il sorso verso un finale elegante e persistente con richiami terrosi e speziati, e proprio queste caratteristiche lo rendono particolarmente adatto ad abbinamenti con piatti ricchi e saporiti come carni rosse brasate, arrosti, selvaggina, preparazioni a base di funghi o tartufo e formaggi stagionati, creando un equilibrio raffinato tra la complessità del vino e l’intensità del cibo.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
