Henri Ramonteu, Béarnais autodidatta è viticoltore dal 1978. A poco a poco, con medaglie e riconoscimenti, si è fatto un nome e si è portato dietro l'intera denominazione Jurançon. I 43 ettari di vigneti producono ogni anno circa 250.000 bottiglie di questo vino d'oro, ottenuto principalmente da due vitigni, Petit Manseng (per i vini dolci) e Gros Manseng (per i vini secchi e dolci di prima qualità). Le viti sono arroccate a 500 metri sul livello del mare, tra i Pirenei e l'Atlantico (siamo qui vicinissimi a Pau, 100 km da Biarritz e 60 km dalla Spagna). Tra l'altro beneficiano di un clima che unisce rigore montano e mitezza marittima. I venti spazzano il sito. Il terreno, di alta qualità, è un prezioso impasto di argilla, ciottoli e silice che permette ai vitigni di esprimere con nobiltà le proprie potenzialità. I vini, con la freschezza tipica della regione, rivelano aromi esplosivi di mela cotta, susina mirabella, pasta di frutta, nespole selvatiche.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
