Fèlsina's 1999 Fontalloro is a monument to pure Sangiovese, an IGT Toscana Rosso that unfolds in the glass with an intense and compact ruby ​​red color, almost as if seeking to retain its powerful essence. On the nose, it is a complex and layered olfactory experience: a whirlwind of dark fruits, currants, and blackberries, elegantly blending with tertiary notes of tobacco, leather, licorice, and a touch of damp earth. On the palate, the wine is solid and majestic, powerful yet incredibly balanced. I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
