Domaine Jacob’s 2005 Ladoix is a wine that embodies the excellence of a vintage considered legendary in Burgundy, offering a perfect balance of concentration, structure, and freshness. Produced by a historic family-run estate located at the foot of the Corton hill, this wine benefits from a limestone terroir that lends elegance to both the red and white versions. After nearly twenty years of aging, the Pinot Noir presents a deep garnet color and a complex bouquet of cherries in brandy, ripe strawberries, forest floor, and noble spices, supported by tannins that are now silky and velvety. The Chardonnay, equally fine, offers golden highlights and complex notes of toasted hazelnut, honey, and dried white flowers, while maintaining a surprising mineral liveliness. Traditional winemaking and the skillful use of wood have allowed this Ladoix to stand the test of time, reaching its peak of expression today. We recommend serving it at 16–17°C (for the red) or 12°C (for the white), pairing it with refined dishes such as duck, porcini mushrooms, or aged cheeses, and savoring the smoothness typical of great Burgundy wines that have reached full maturity.
