A red wine with great character from one of Provence's most prestigious appellations. Bandol is renowned for its structure and longevity, thanks to the predominance of Mourvèdre, a powerful grape with a rich personality.

The 2003 vintage, marked by a very hot summer in France, produced concentrated and structured wines, with significant fruit ripeness.

In the glass it presents an intense garnet red colour with evident evolutionary reflections.

The nose is deep and complex: ripe black fruit (blackberry, plum), jam, notes of Mediterranean scrub, dark spices, pepper, licorice, leather, and light balsamic and toasted nuances. The palate is broad and structured, with soft yet persistent tannins, full body, and great persistence. The wine's evolution has brought tertiary notes of undergrowth, tobacco, and humus, while maintaining a solid and intense texture.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
