The Poggiolino farm was founded in the mid-twentieth century, but its history is rooted in the past with origins in the town of Badia a Passignano. The Villa was founded in the early twentieth century as a country residence of a Florentine gentleman. The years passed and in 1974 it was purchased by Carlo Pacini. The great passion for nature and sensitivity towards the territory have meant that two generations have followed one another with a great desire to create a special wine. With these assumptions the company has grown by expanding its corporate body which today extends for about 25 hectares divided into vineyards, olive groves, and woods. This wine is the maximum expression of Sangiovese, symbol of Chianti Classico. Combined with a historic native wine, the “Colorino” is harvested and vinified separately due to differences in maturation. The two different masses are assembled before aging in oak barrels which contribute to the creation of a great and traditional Chianti Classico. Of an intense ruby red color with purple reflections, it is made up of fruity flavors and aromas and with typical notes of classic aging. It is therefore a wine with characteristics of good freshness, harmonious, velvety, warm and full-bodied.
