Der Boden in dieser Gegend ist hauptsächlich lehm- und kalkhaltig und wird hauptsächlich mit Merlot angebaut, der für diese Art der Zusammensetzung gut geeignet ist. Der Winzer des Weinguts ist Claude Gaudin, der auch mit anderen berühmten Châteaux im Haut-Médoc-Gebiet zusammenarbeitet. Seine Philosophie und sein Produktionsstil sind einfach: Reduzieren Sie den Ertrag pro Rebstock, um eine höhere aromatische Konzentration in den Beeren zu erreichen. Das Ergebnis wird ein Qualitätswein mit intensiven und ausgeprägten Aromen und geschmacklichen Geruchsnoten sein.
