Scala Dei ist das Gründungskellerei des DOQ Priorat und ein Bezugspunkt für Qualität, noch bevor das Gebiet in den 1980er Jahren wiederentdeckt wurde. Sie sind Erben der Tradition der Kartäusermönche, die 1973 die besten Weine der Region auswählten und als erste Flaschenweine verkauften. Für eine gewisse Zeit in Vergessenheit geraten, hat er seine Vitalität wiedererlangt und ist zu einer der besten Referenzen geworden in der Appellation wurde seitdem Teil der Codorníu-Gruppe und die Leitung der Önologie wurde dem Önologen Ricard Rofes anvertraut. Die Weine der erneuerten Scala Dei zeigen die Wiederherstellung des Ursprungs, die Weinbereitung mit Fingerspitzengefühl und die Verwendung großer Behälter zur Reifung.
