The Agricola Punica winery was founded as a joint venture between the legendary San Guido winery (producer of the famous Sassicaia wine), the Sardinian Cantina di Santadi, and the renowned Tuscan oenologist Giacomo Tachis. The first vineyards were acquired in 2002. The estate comprises 170 hectares (65 of which are planted with vines), spread across two properties in Barrua and Narcao, both located in southern Sardinia and part of the IGT Isola dei Nuraghi appellation. The grape varieties include Carignano, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Syrah for the red wines, while Vermentino and Chardonnay are grown for the white wines (5 hectares). The winery enjoys a particularly mild climate with mild winters and hot, dry, and windy summers.

This cuvée is grown on deep clay-limestone soil that is sandy in places. The dry summer heat gives it a unique character with intense fruity notes. On the palate, it reveals hints of licorice, dried fruit, aromatic herbs, and elegant tannins. Aging in French barriques lends the finish a delicate, spicy note.
