Der Barolo Bricco Rocche von Ceretto ist ein Wein von großem Prestige, der aus Nebbiolo-Trauben von einer der renommiertesten Lagen der Gemeinde Castiglione Falletto stammt und einen historischen Ausdruck des Barolo in einem der gefeiertsten Jahrgänge der achtziger Jahre darstellt. Er präsentiert sich heute mit einer tiefen granatroten Farbe mit deutlichen orangefarbenen Reflexen, die auf eine lange Entwicklung hindeuten. In der Nase ist er äußerst komplex und ätherisch mit Noten von getrockneter Rose, getrocknetem Veilchen, Leder, Tabak, feinen Gewürzen, Goudron, Trüffel und tertiären Noten wie Unterholz, Humus und Edelhölzern. Am Gaumen ist er harmonisch und samtig mit mittlerweile vollständig entwickelten und seidigen Tanninen, einer noch vorhandenen, aber perfekt integrierten Struktur und einer Restfrische, die den Schluck unterstützt und ihn trotz seines Alters überraschend lebendig macht. Der Abgang ist sehr lang, elegant und anhaltend mit balsamischen und würzigen Rückmeldungen. Der Jahrgang 1985 gilt in den Langhe als exzellent und hat langlebige und tiefgründige Weine hervorgebracht, die über Jahrzehnte hinweg reifen können. Es wird empfohlen, ihn bei etwa 18 Grad mit äußerster Vorsicht zu servieren, eventuell mit einer sehr sanften Dekantierung, um Sedimente abzutrennen und die aromatische Öffnung zu fördern. Er passt ideal zu wichtigen, aber nicht zu aggressiven Gerichten wie zarten Schmorbraten, edlem Wild, sehr reifem Käse oder kann auch allein als Meditationswein genossen werden, was ihn insgesamt zu einem Barolo auf höchstem Niveau macht, komplex, tiefgründig und repräsentativ für die große Tradition der Langhe und die Reifefähigkeit des Nebbiolo.
