Der Barbera d’Alba "Scarrone Vigna Vecchia" ist ein Wein, der zu 100% aus Barbera-Trauben gewonnen wird. Diese stammen aus dem ältesten Teil des Weinbergs von Castiglione Falletto, in der Ortschaft Scarrone, mit südöstlicher Ausrichtung und einer Dichte von etwa 4.300 Pflanzen pro Hektar. Die Weinbereitung umfasst eine Kaltmazeration, eine zweiwöchige alkoholische Gärung in Stahltanks, gefolgt von einer Mazeration nach der Gärung. Der Wein wird dann für den biologischen Säureabbau in Barriques umgefüllt und reift für etwa 18 Monate in Stahl, Barriques und Fässern. Er präsentiert sich in einer rubinroten Farbe, intensiven Aromen von reifen Kirschen, Vanille und Gewürzen, mit einer ausgewogenen Frische und einem intensiven Abgang.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
