Als Grand Cru Classé der Appellation Saint-Estèphe (Médoc) im Jahr 1855 gewählt, bietet uns das Château Cos d’Estournel einen Wein, der die Quintessenz von Eleganz und Intensität verkörpert. Schon in seiner Jugend offenbart er kräftige Fruchtnoten und einen schönen Körper, der sanft in eine bemerkenswerte aromatische Komplexität übergeht. Die Trauben aus Cabernet Sauvignon (2/3) und Merlot (1/3), ergänzt durch Cabernet Franc und Petit Verdot, stammen von etwa 55 Jahre alten Rebstöcken, die an begrünten Hängen mit feinen Kiesböden für den Cabernet und Kalkstein für den Merlot wachsen. Nach der Ernte und einer sorgfältigen Auswahl erfolgt die Weinbereitung im Schwerkraftverfahren. Die Temperaturen werden streng kontrolliert und der Wein reift 18 Monate lang in neuen Eichenfässern.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
