Sergio Manetti, da er das Jahr und den Wein für ungeeignet hielt, beschließt, seinen Namen darauf zu setzen und den Pergole dieses Jahrgangs de facto abzustufen.
Nachdem er eine Weile im Glas gearbeitet hat, nähere ich mich Martino und rufe aus: „Wer weiß, ob der Jahrgang gut gewesen wäre“… er ähnelt einem großen Burgunder. Erwarten Sie keine olfaktorische Explosion. Er ist vorsichtig, still, aber das beunruhigt nicht. Er präsentiert sich mit diesem sehr eleganten Rauchton, blondem Tabak und Sauerkirsche, Teeblättern, trockenen Kräutern, Bitterorange. Er ist leicht im Ansatz, fast sanft in seinen Bewegungen, mit jugendlichem Tannin, schafft es, linear voranzuschreiten und sich zum Schluss zu öffnen, wie die Franzosen sagen würden, „a queue de paon“. I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
