The Barolo from Marchesi di Barolo is a historic red wine of great elegance and prestige, produced in the heart of the Piedmontese Langhe by one of the most iconic wineries in the Italian winemaking tradition. Made primarily from Nebbiolo grapes, this Barbaresco is from one of the classic vintages of the late 1960s and is highly sought after today by connoisseurs and collectors of old wines.

With its intense garnet-red color and orange hues resulting from long aging, it develops a complex and well-rounded bouquet with notes of wilted rose, dried violets, ripe cherry, spices, tobacco, leather, underbrush, and subtle balsamic nuances. On the palate, it is elegant, harmonious, and well-structured, with fine, now velvety tannins, good length, and a refined balance typical of great, aged Nebbiolo.

The 1969 vintage is considered significant for the great Piedmontese red wines with long aging potential, which can develop exceptional aromatic complexity over the course of decades. Historic bottles of Marchesi di Barolo from this period now stand as important testaments to the winemaking tradition of the Langhe and the international prestige of Piedmontese wines.
