Recioto Campociesa is a historic wine of rare elegance that is part of the great tradition of Passito wines from the Valpolicella Classica region. Made from Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes that are naturally dried in drying rooms during the winter, it represents one of the most authentic expressions of the Veronese Recioto from the 1970s.
With its deep garnet color and amber highlights—the result of long aging—it develops an intense and complex bouquet with notes of cherries in alcohol, prunes, figs, cocoa, sweet tobacco, spices, and dried fruits. On the palate, it is soft, velvety, and enveloping, with a refined balance between sweetness, structure, and freshness—a hallmark of the great historic Recioto di Valpolicella.
The 1971 vintage belongs to an iconic period in Masi’s artisanal winemaking, when the term “Recioto” still referred to wines produced using traditional methods that had been handed down for centuries in the province of Verona. Historic bottles like these are now considered collector’s items, prized both for their historical value and for the appeal of their long aging.
