Poderi Luigi Einaudi’s 2014 Barolo is a red wine made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes that embodies the classic, elegant style of the Langhe, emphasizing finesse over power. In the glass, it displays a garnet-red color with orange hues already clearly visible—a sign of the evolution typical of this vintage. On the nose, it is complex and refined, with aromas of wilted rose, violet, small red fruits, spices, tobacco, leather, and light balsamic and tertiary notes that develop with aeration. On the palate, it is harmonious and balanced, with a structure that is present but not overpowering, fine and well-integrated tannins, good freshness that supports the drinking experience, and an elegant texture rather than a muscular one. the finish is long and persistent with spicy and floral notes. The 2014 vintage is considered fresh and less concentrated compared to others but has produced very elegant wines that are already quite ready to drink; It is recommended to serve it at 16–18°C after brief aeration; it pairs well with structured dishes such as braised or roasted red meats, game, rich pasta dishes, and aged cheeses. Overall, it is a refined, balanced, and approachable Barolo with good drinkability and the traditional style of the Langhe.
