Over the years, the Brovia family’s estate has expanded to its current size of 19 hectares, which allows for the production of approximately 60,000 bottles per year. The vineyards are located in the heart of the Barolo region, in the municipalities of Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d’Alba, and are situated in the most prestigious crus of the Langhe: Rocche, Garbelet Sue, Ca’ Mia, and Villero—the source of the family’s crown jewel, the famous Barolo Villero. The soils, which vary in composition—from clayey to slightly sandy, and from calcareous to compact—lend the wines distinct characteristics and nuances; however, all of the family’s vineyards share one common feature: a southern exposure, or more precisely, a southeast to southwest orientation. The state-of-the-art and meticulously executed winemaking techniques include, among other processes, gentle crushing, temperature-controlled fermentation, aging in Slavonian and French oak barrels, and final refinement in the bottle. The winery’s stated goal is very simple and can be summed up in two words: to constantly improve, while maintaining an unwavering love for the land and its traditions.
