The Agricola Punica estate was founded as a joint venture between the legendary San Guido estate (producer of the famous Sassicaia wine), the Sardinian Cantina di Santadi, and the renowned Tuscan winemaker Giacomo Tachis. The first vineyards were purchased in 2002. The estate comprises 170 hectares (65 of which are planted with vines), divided into two properties in Barrua and Narcao, both located in southern Sardinia and part of the Isola dei Nuraghi IGT. The varietal selection includes Carignano, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Syrah for the reds, while the whites (5 hectares) consist of Vermentino and Chardonnay. The estate enjoys a particularly mild climate, with mild winters and hot, dry, and windy summers.

This cuvée is grown on deep clay-limestone soil that is sandy in places. The arid summer heat gives it a unique character, with intense fruity notes. On the palate, it offers hints of licorice, dried fruit, aromatic herbs, and elegant tannins. Aging in French oak barrels lends the finish a delicate spicy touch.
