Azienda nata due secoli fa e precorritrice della vinificazione moderna nella Sicilia occidentale. Cominciano a produrre Marsala di alta qualità dall’inizio del 1800 per poi ampliare la propria gamma con prodotti autoctoni. Questo Syrah prodotto prevalentemente per il mercato anglosassone gran amante di vini strutturati e con alte gradazioni alcoliche (14.5% vol), l’affinamento prevede un passaggio di un anno in barriques e poi di nuovo fermo in bottiglia cercando d’ammorbidere l’alcolicità dovuta al calore della terra siciliana. Baglio Hopps ora è una delle realtà più importanti dell’Isola e tappa di molti tour enologici.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
