Red - Burgundy

Burgundy is world-renowned for its white wines made from Chardonnay grapes and its red wines made from Pinot Noir. Burgundy is located in the central-eastern part of France and is one of the northernmost regions in the world where red wines are produced. Pinot Noir performs best in cool climates such as Burgundy, which is why the level of quality achieved here remains unmatched to this day. On the other hand, this latitude also has its drawbacks: adverse weather conditions in unfavorable years can result in wines with flavor and aroma profiles that are not always optimal. Burgundy wines therefore tend to vary by vintage, which makes the diversity and complexity of this region even more fascinating.

In Burgundy, Aligoté (a white grape variety from the Mâconnais region, used to produce wines for mass consumption and sometimes found in Crémant de Bourgogne) and Gamay, the famous red grape variety used to make Beaujolais wines, are also grown.
