Whisky is a distilled spirit obtained from the fermentation and subsequent distillation of various grains, aged in wooden barrels. Some grains, often barley, are germinated and transformed into malt. The world's best whiskies are considered Scottish, American, Irish, and, more recently, Japanese.
Whisky is the quintessential meditation spirit, a treat to indulge in at the end of the day, without haste.
It can be served alone or accompanied with appetizers of Podolico cheese or with a mature pecorino for a more “powerful” distillate or with a goat's cheese for something more delicate.
A classic combination is with a high-quality dark chocolate.
Of course, you can pair whisky with excellent cigars or with excellent pipe tobacco. English Mixtures that are not too fragrant but intense will give strong emotions for a real end-of-day treat.
