Il Brunello di Montalcino Pieve Santa Restituta prende il nome dalla Pieve Santa Restituta, situata nel cuore di questo appezzamento, che si trova in una delle zone più prestigiose del territorio della denominazione Montalcino. La cuvée è stata prodotta per la prima volta nell'annata 2005. Si presenta di colore rubino intenso e ha un bouquet molto espressivo, con aromi di frutti rossi, frutti di bosco e sfumature di ginepro. Al palato ha tannini maturi, una struttura ricca con un’acidità ben integrata e un finale lungo.

Angelo Gaja è senza dubbio una delle più importanti personalità del mondo del vino italiano. Nato nel 1940, assume nel 1961 la guida della tenuta di famiglia fondata nel 1859 nelle Langhe, in Piemonte, è  stato inoltre il primo a piantare cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay e sauvignon blanc invece del nebbiolo, andando contro il parere dei suoi colleghi.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
