Lo Château La Tour Carnet è una bella proprietà che si distingue dalle altre tenute della regione. Al suo interno ritroviamo un castello medievale circondato da diversi fossati, un ponte levatoio e una torre, nonché un vasto vigneto (oltre 170 ettari), in un unico appezzamento, adagiato su un suolo argilloso-marnoso, che è stato quasi interamente ripiantato negli anni '60. Questo Quatrième Grand Cru Classé dell'Haut-Médoc ora è di proprietà di Bernard Magrez. 

Abbiamo accennato ai grandi investimenti di Bernard Magrez. Egli si rivolse al famoso enologo e consulente Michel Rolland, che gli suggerì l'idea di rinnovare  la cantina e le vigne. 

Si estendono per circa 73 km, possiedono in media trent'anni e sono coltivate in gran parte secondo i principi tradizionali, ispirati a un'agricoltura sostenibile. I rossi vengono elaborati a partire da cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc e petit verdot, mentre per i bianchi vengono utilizzati vitigni  sauvignon blanc e gris,  sémillon e muscadelle. Le vigne traggono grandi benefici da una varietà di suoli composti perlopiù da argilla, calcare e ghiaia della Garonna e dei Pirenei, che poggiano a loro volta su un sottosuolo calcareo.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
