Château Lestage Simon is a Cru Bourgeois from the Haut-Médoc that embodies the classic, traditional style of the Médoc. The 1995 vintage in Bordeaux is considered very good, producing structured, tannic, and age-worthy wines, thanks to favorable weather conditions and optimal ripening of the grapes.

In the glass, it displays a deep garnet red color, with distinct orange hues at the rim, typical of its aging.

On the nose, it is complex and mature: black currants preserved in alcohol, plums, notes of tobacco, leather, undergrowth, humus, dark spices, and subtle balsamic hints.

On the palate, it is structured yet harmonious, with tannins that have been softened by time, good acidity, and a full body. The finish is long, with tertiary notes of licorice, bitter cocoa, and well-integrated woody notes.

The magnum format has allowed for a slower, more conservative evolution. Today, the 1995 vintage has reached full maturity: it is a complex, elegant wine that is perfectly ready to drink, with the potential to age further but best enjoyed now for the balance it has achieved.
