“La Haute Olive” è una selezione proveniente da vigne situate su suoli argillo-calcarei tipici di Chinon, che esprimono finezza ed eleganza del Cabernet Franc della Loira.

Nel calice si presenta con un rosso rubino intenso con sfumature granato dovute all’evoluzione dell’annata.

Al naso offre un bouquet complesso e raffinato: frutti rossi maturi (lampone, ribes), prugna, note floreali di viola, seguite da sentori speziati, pepe nero, leggere note erbacee tipiche del vitigno e sfumature di tabacco e sottobosco.

Al palato è strutturato ma slanciato, con tannini setosi, buona freschezza e una trama elegante. Il finale è lungo, con ritorni di frutta matura, spezie e una piacevole nota minerale.

L’annata 2012 in Loira ha dato vini equilibrati e armonici: oggi questo Chinon si presenta in una fase di piena maturità, con bella complessità aromatica e tannini perfettamente integrati.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
