Giacomo Bologna Braida è una tenuta nel Monferrato piemontese, a sud-est della città di Asti. È particolarmente associato ai vini prodotti dal vitigno Barbera, ed è talvolta accreditato come il primo produttore della regione a dimostrare che questa varietà può essere invecchiata in botti di rovere nuove. Fiore all'occhiello della gamma è il Bricco dell'Uccellone, una Barbera d'Asti dai profumi ricchi, dalla consistenza voluttuosa e dal rovere cremoso. Al top della gamma si aggiungono Bricco della Bigotta e Ai Suma, che vedono entrambi da 15 a 18 mesi in barrique nuove. L'azienda produce anche numerosi vini bianchi delle Langhe, tra cui uno Chardonnay, un Riesling e un Nascetta, oltre a un Brachetto d'Acqui e un Moscato d'Asti. Braida ha vigneti in diverse zone del Monferrato e in due siti a sud est di Alba nelle Langhe che forniscono uve bianche. La tenuta nella sua forma attuale risale al 1961 quando Giacomo Bologna ereditò i vigneti (e il soprannome 'Braida') da suo padre.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
