Marziano Abbona's Barolo Cerviano Merli 2020 embodies the elegance and tradition of Nebbiolo from the Cerviano-Merli cru, located in the municipality of Novello. This wine represents the perfect synthesis of the terroir's strength and the grape's delicacy, the result of careful grape selection and terroir-respecting aging. It displays an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it offers a complex and enveloping bouquet, with notes of ripe cherry, sweet spices, mint, aromatic herbs, cedar, and a hint of sweet tobacco. On the palate, the wine is structured and velvety, with silky tannins and a long finish. Its balanced acidity gives it freshness and aging potential. The 2020 vintage was characterized by a cold winter and a rainy spring, followed by a warm, dry summer. These conditions led to an early harvest, but the grapes reached excellent ripeness, with good sugar and acidity concentrations, ideal for the production of Barolo.
