Al naso esprime profumi intensi di ciliegia, rosa canina, viola e spezie fini, con accenni di tabacco, terra e mineralità ferrosa. In bocca è profondo, strutturato e armonioso, con tannini ben cesellati, acidità equilibrata e un finale lungo e persistente, di grande eleganza. L’annata del 2020 ha offerto condizioni climatiche regolari, con un’estate calda ma non estrema e buone escursioni termiche, che hanno permesso maturazioni lente e uniformi. I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
