Il Brunello di Montalcino 2020 di Villa Poggio Salvi è un classico esempio di Brunello toscano ben fatto, senza fronzoli ma con sostanza. È prodotto con 100% Sangiovese Grosso da vigne esposte sud‑ovest su terreni di galestro tra 350 e 500 m, e matura per circa 30 mesi in botti di rovere di Slavonia prima di essere messo in commercio.  

Nel bicchiere si presenta di bel rosso rubino intenso. Al naso è ricco e articolato: frutta rossa matura (ciliegia, prugna), note floreali di violetta, spezie dolci e un tocco erbaceo balsamico che racconta il territorio con chiarezza.  In bocca conferma quello che promette all’olfatto: è pieno, strutturato e ben bilanciato, con tannini eleganti e freschezza viva, che lo rendono piacevole anche ora ma con spazio per evolvere ancora qualche anno. Il finale è lungo e persistente.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
