Masi's Campofiorin 1968 is one of the most important historical expressions of the winemaking evolution of Valpolicella, often associated – even improperly on the label or in collectors' memories – with the world of Amarone due to its rich and structured style.

This wine is an innovative interpretation of the terroir, based on a second fermentation technique on dried grape pomace, which allows for greater body, aromatic depth, and aging potential than traditional red wines. Bottles from the late 1960s are now rare examples of the first historic productions of this style.

In the glass, it displays a deep garnet color verging on orange, a sign of long aging. The bouquet is complex and mature, with notes of cherries in alcohol, stewed fruit, dried plums, cocoa, leather, sweet spices, and balsamic hints. With age, more evolved nuances of tobacco and undergrowth emerge.

On the palate, it is full-bodied, warm, and enveloping, with silky tannins and a long, smooth finish. The balance between structure and softness makes it a meditation wine, reflecting a key historical phase in the qualitative growth of Masi's Veronese wines.
