Lo Champagne più importante di Bollinger, nato nel 1911, per il quale l'agente britannico Georges Bollinger diede l'idea del nome Special Cuvée,"speciale" scritto in modo inglese, senza accento. Pensava che l'espressione francese "Brut sans année" non potesse essere adeguato ad uno champagne di tale finezza... Più di cento anni dopo, il nome della figura chiave di Bollinger simboleggia ancora sia la sua esperienza che la sua storia. Prodotta in oltre 2 milioni di bottiglie, questa cuvée vanta un grandissima componente di "vins de réserve"(circa 55%), di cui almeno il 10% vecchi fino a 15 anni, vinificati dalla Maison in legno e poi conservati in Magnum tappati a sughero. Nasce dall'assemblaggio di circa 130 vini e trascorre almeno 3 anni sui lieviti.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
