Château Angélus is a rare gem from Saint-Émilion that embodies the timeless elegance of a legendary vintage for Bordeaux's right bank, now reaching an evolution of extreme nobility and refinement. It presents a deep, pale garnet color, fading toward brick and orange highlights typical of a wine with seven decades of history. The bouquet is a compendium of aristocratic tertiary notes: initially timid, it slowly unfolds with hints of black truffle, pipe tobacco, antique leather, and cigar box, intertwined with a subtle note of brandied plum and dried violet that still recalls the soul of Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

On the palate, the wine is an exercise in balance and silkiness, where the once powerful structure has transformed into a velvety and subtle texture, almost fragile yet still supported by a noble acidity that ensures its persistence. The palate is harmonious and deep, with a finish that fades into savory, mineral, and undergrowth notes, making it the ideal companion for dishes of extraordinary finesse, such as braised partridge with porcini mushrooms or fillet Rossini-style with black truffle shavings, which respect the delicacy of such an ancient wine. It also pairs magnificently with extremely mature hard cheeses, such as a 36-month Comté, where the complexity of the milk meets the aromatic stratification of an Angélus, which has now achieved legendary status.
