Il Château de Fonbel Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 1996 è un rosso della denominazione Saint-Émilion, nel cuore della regione di Bordeaux, noto per uno stile più accessibile ma comunque raffinato, basato principalmente su Merlot con una quota importante di Cabernet Sauvignon e Cabernet Franc che contribuiscono a struttura e complessità; l’annata 1996, molto positiva per Bordeaux, ha dato vini longevi e ben equilibrati, e oggi questo vino si presenta con un colore granato evoluto con riflessi aranciati, mentre al naso offre un bouquet maturo e articolato con note di frutta rossa e nera evoluta come prugna e ribes, accompagnate da sentori terziari di cuoio, tabacco, sottobosco e leggere sfumature speziate e tostate; al palato è morbido e armonico, con tannini levigati dal tempo, una struttura ancora presente ma ben integrata e una freschezza che sostiene il sorso fino a un finale elegante con richiami terrosi e speziati, e grazie a questo profilo si abbina molto bene a piatti saporiti come carni rosse arrosto o brasate, agnello, selvaggina, piatti a base di funghi e formaggi stagionati, offrendo un equilibrio piacevole tra intensità aromatica e morbidezza.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
