Il Château Larrivet-Haut-Brion è un importante vino rosso della denominazione Pessac-Léognan, prodotto nell’omonima tenuta situata nella parte meridionale dell’area di Bordeaux. Il vigneto si estende su terreni tipici della zona composti da ghiaie profonde con sottosuolo argilloso e sabbioso, condizioni ideali per la coltivazione di vitigni bordolesi come Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon e Cabernet Franc. Nel calice il vino si presenta con un colore rosso rubino intenso e profondo. Il profumo è raffinato e complesso, con aromi di frutti neri maturi come mora e ribes accompagnati da note di ciliegia, spezie dolci, tabacco e leggere sfumature affumicate e di cacao derivanti dall’affinamento in barrique. Al palato mostra una struttura elegante e ben equilibrata, con tannini morbidi ma presenti che sostengono una trama gustativa ricca e armoniosa. Il finale è lungo e persistente con ritorni di frutta scura, spezie e leggere sensazioni tostate che confermano il carattere classico e raffinato dei rossi di Pessac-Léognan. È un vino capace di evolvere bene con l’invecchiamento sviluppando maggiore complessità aromatica e note terziarie tipiche dei grandi Bordeaux maturi.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
