L’azienda agricola Casale dello Sparviero viene acquisita dalla famiglia Andrighetti negli anni 70, un imprenditore veneto che ne intuisce le potenzialità per la produzione di vino, l’azienda passa in mano alla figlia Ada che negli anni 90 la modernizza completamente facendo delle nuove acquisizioni e dei nuovi reimpianti in vigna. Il figlio Arrigo ne prende le redini alcuni anni dopo per condurre l’azienda attraverso il 21° secolo. Lo sparviero è simbolo di eleganza e forza e fu abbastanza facile che il nome della tenuta  diventasse un omaggio a questo meraviglioso rapace. Sangiovese quasi in purezza con un solo 5% di Cannaiolo, è un vino fresco, fruttato, la famiglia Andrighetti cerca di dare un nuovo sapore alla tradizione toscana.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
