Founded in 1991 following the division of the estates of Charles Mortet, Denis’s father, the estate of the same name now encompasses all the appellations within the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin, with a total annual production of 55,000 bottles. The vines are old, the terroir is highly distinctive, yields are impeccably controlled, and the grapes are meticulously selected in two stages. The result is wines of exceptional consistency. Already legendary, Denis’s wines continue to enchant the palates of lovers of great Burgundy wines.

His son Arnaud has decided to carry on his father’s work. A brilliant winemaker, he has brought his own style to the wines, which are slightly less intense but possess greater elegance. He does not speak of “extraction” but rather of “infusion” to describe one of the winemaking methods he uses most frequently.

This is one of the jewels of the Côte de Nuits that all lovers of fine wine should definitely know about
