La tenuta fu fondata attorno ai primi anni del '900 dal marchese Incisa della Rocchetta che ebbe fin da subito il desiderio ed il sogno di produrre e far conoscere al mondo i vini dell'area della Maremma e quindi di Bolgheri. L'azienda che prende il nome da San Guido della Gherardesca, diventa famosa nei primi anni '40, quando fu presa la decisione di impiantare e produrre vini che provenissero da viti a taglio bordolese come Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot e Merlot. Il successo di questa gamma di produzione fu straordinario e oggi sono conosciuti in tutto il mondo per i loro grandi vini e soprattutto per lo storico e rinomato Sassicaia. Guidoalberto è un vino dal color rosso rubino con sentori di frutti di bosco, caffè e cioccolata amara. In bocca di corpo e persistente.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
