Les Hauts de Smith rosso, secondo vino dello Château Smith Haut Lafitte, presenta un interessante rapporto qualità-prezzo ed è un bel modo per iniziarsi ai vini di questa azienda. La vinificazione e la maturazione di 14 mesi in barrique sono eseguite con la stessa meticolosità riservata al primo vino. Questa cuvée, prodotta con le uve di vigne relativamente giovani, si rivela equilibrata ed elegante e può essere degustata da giovane oppure dopo qualche anno di riposo. Si sposa a meraviglia con piatti a base di agnello, selvaggina da piuma e manzo. Al naso esprime intensi aromi di frutti rossi (fragola, ciliegia), spezie dolci (cannella, anice) e a volte note di selce, mentre al palato si distingue per l’ampiezza, l’equilibrio e la bella trama tannica, concludendosi su un finale molto aromatico che conferisce freschezza all’insieme.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
