Questo Romanée-Saint-Vivant è un capolavoro a base di pinot noir vinificato da Michel Voarick.  La tenuta è gestita in regime di agricoltura sostenibile. Sono diversi anni che il Domaine Michel Voarick non produce questa cuvée, il che la rende una rarità.

Dopo una raccolta manuale a piena maturità e una cernita rigorosa, le uve vengono diraspate e vinificate. L'estrazione è accompagnata da follature e rimontaggi. Il vino invecchia per 12-24 mesi.

Alla degustazione rivela un colore rubino scuro, che con il tempo assume riflessi rosso carminio. Il bouquet è complesso con note di frutti a bacca rossa e nera, violetta, sottobosco e spezie. Questo Romanée esprime un sorso intenso, con un attacco al palato deciso e un’eccezionale eleganza. Possiede inoltre un ottimo potenziale di invecchiamento. Va servito a 16-17°C abbinato a pietanze raffinate come del petto d'anatra, un arrosto di vitello o della lepre alla Royale.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
