È un’icona della Maremma toscana, un vino che coniuga potenza e finezza in modo magistrale. Considerato uno dei primi veri Supertuscan maremmani, porta la firma inconfondibile di Elisabetta Geppetti e del grande enologo Giacomo Tachis. È un taglio bordolese di Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon e Alicante, che nell’annata 1998 — calda, equilibrata e generosa — ha raggiunto un livello di armonia straordinaria. Nel calice si presenta rosso granato intenso, con unghia ancora viva. Al naso è profondo e complesso, con aromi di frutti neri maturi, amarena sotto spirito, tabacco, cioccolato e spezie dolci, su un fondo balsamico e minerale. In bocca è ampio, vellutato e di grande struttura, sostenuto da tannini fini e da una persistenza lunghissima. L’equilibrio tra calore e freschezza lo rende ancora oggi un vino pienamente godibile, elegante e nobile. Un rosso da meditazione, perfetto con carni rosse, selvaggina o formaggi importanti, ma anche da gustare da solo, per apprezzarne la profondità.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
