Il "Sito Moresco" di Gaja è un blend che unisce vitigni autoctoni piemontesi a varietà internazionali, una filosofia innovativa introdotta da Angelo Gaja negli anni '60 per modernizzare la vinificazione italiana.  È tipicamente una cuvée di Nebbiolo, Merlot e Cabernet Sauvignon, con le proporzioni che possono variare leggermente a seconda dell'annata.

Il vino si presenta di un colore rosso rubino scuro e intenso. Offre un bouquet complesso e stratificato, dominato da note di frutti rossi maturi, ciliegia, more, cassis, con sfumature floreali (violetta), speziate, minerali e talvolta sentori balsamici o di erbe officinali. Al palato è strutturato, morbido e armonico, con tannini setosi e ben integrati e un'ottima freschezza, che lo rendono piacevole da bere giovane ma adatto anche a un breve invecchiamento.

Le uve vengono vinificate separatamente in tini di acciaio inox a temperatura controllata. Il vino matura per circa 12 mesi in barrique di rovere francese prima dell'assemblaggio finale e di un ulteriore affinamento in bottiglia.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
