    From above, Piedmont resembles a soft, checkered quilt draped elegantly over the Alpine arc, its snow-covered peaks forming gentle, striated slopes. As we gradually zoom in, we realize that each of the checkered patches is a vineyard, and the striations are rows. Each row is composed of vines, leaves, shoots, and bunches of grapes, which in turn consist of grapes—pearls of a treasure that will one day become Piedmontese wines.

    Piedmont is the treasure chest that holds these pearls.

    Rightfully considered one of Italy's richest wine regions, it is undoubtedly the most important in terms of numbers, boasting 42 DOC and 16 DOCG red and white wines, a significant achievement in Italy's winemaking landscape. Consider the recent establishment of the "Royal Road of Turin Wines," a 600-kilometer route through the region surrounding the capital, which traverses much of the Canavese, Collina Torinese, Pinerolo, and Susa Valleys. Piedmont is also the birthplace of sparkling wine, the most famous of which (and not only in Italy) is undoubtedly Asti.
